2008 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS

Report on Annual General Meeting & RIBO Seminar – Friday, June 20, 2008

Our Annual General Meeting was held on June 20, 2008 at the Golden Court Abalone Restaurant at 6:30 p.m., in which all businesses were successfully transacted in accordance with the Agenda of the meeting.

The following is our Notice & Agenda of the Annual General Meeting:

NOTICE AND AGENDA OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Members of the Canadian Chinese Insurance Professionals Association will be held at the Golden Court Abalone Restaurant, #22, 270 West Beaver Creek Road, Richmond Hill, Ontario at 6:30 p.m. (Toronto time), on Friday, June 20, 2008, for the following purposes:

  1. To receive the report on the operations and activities of the Association
  2. To consider, and if thought fit, approve and adopt the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held on Friday, June 15, 2007.
  3. To receive the Review Engagement Report of the annual financial statements of the Association for the financial year ended April 30, 2008.
  4. To appoint Ms. Magdalene Wong AICB, to prepare Review Engagement Report of the annual financial statements of the Association for the financial year ending April 30, 2009.
  5. To consider, and if deemed appropriate, approve such other business validly presented to the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at around 7:00 p.m..

Our AGM was preceded by a RIBO Accredited Seminar, led by Mr. Nick Angellotti, CA-IFA, Williams & Partners Forensic Accountants Inc., who gave us an excellent insight into one of the most complex coverages in commercial insurance – Business Interruption.  Nick has also provided us with practical example from his past experience, to make the information more vivid and realistic to us.  A big thank-you to Nick.

Of course, following the formal part of the evening Event, comes our casual networking dinner, coupled with our follow-up Sichuan Earthquake Donation, in which we held a silent auction on the prizes donated by all our directors.
