Merry Christmas with tonns of presents2011 Annual Christmas
Celebration Dinner

We had another successful year of annual Christmas dinner held on December 2, 2011 in Delta Markham Hotel.

When we got out of the elevator, our President, Susan Cheung, and all the familiar faces of directors were there greeting us. We hugged and chatted and then continued with some old friends that had not seen for a while and had some pops, cocktails and wine from the bar.

Before we were ushered into the banquet room, we already heard a very familiar voice. That was true, our favourite MC, Jason Lam, was there on the stage making some announcements.

We found our table having an unobstructed view of the whole banquet hall, the stage and the dance floor and made ourselves easy on the chair waiting for the first course.

The 3-courses dinner was very impressive and up to the professional standard of a 5-star hotel.

During the dinner, we cannot wait for the moment when our most beloved guest singer, Joe Lam, went up to the stage, singing his first song for the night and then followed by his partner, Jose Montano.

Our director, Mary Liu, had to go to her company’s Christmas party, but, made a great effort to rush back to hear Joe singing. And Joe did sing a song especially for her. What a great moment we all shared together.

Then, our President, Susan Cheung, had her first karaoke song for us and then followed by other guests.

How could we not mention our popular dance program in our annual Christmas party? It was led by our instructor, Simon Lee. We saw many familiar faces on the dance floor, like Jing Li, Ning Luo, Martin Ho, Christine Lam etc. We could easily tell they have all been practicing in their own time.

We want to share with you a little secret. Our popular dance instructor is multi-talented. Not only there were quite a few of us were his students, he is also a self-learnt artist.

And then it was time for the Lucky Draw. There were many great prizes, just to mention a few. The two Blackberry Playbooks went to David Cheng and David Ha. But while I was thinking how to put the first prize, the 50-in 3D television, on the roof of my subcompact, with my arm stretching out of the window holding it while driving, our MC announced the luckiest winner of the night.

The first prize went to a pretty lady of Joe Lam’s party. Not only the three aforementioned winners, had we also seen quite a few lucky winners getting more than one prize, like Jenny Chow, James Hui and David Ha etc.

I saw every guest left the night with at least one gift, a big smile and an enlightened heart that would shine through the whole Christmas holiday.

I am sure everyone had a great time and let us repeat it next year.

December 2 is also the anniversary of our director, David Cheng and Christine Lam. We were so moved, just short of some tears, with their passion and forever love to each other, when David offered the flower bouquet and kiss to Christine. We all felt the warmth throughout the banquet hall.

I would like to devote a song by the Canadian singer, Bryan Adams to the pair, ‘Everything I do, I do it for you’.
