CCIPA Bowling and Hot Pot Dinner Night
Our 2011 Bowling and Hot Pot event was held at Club 300 Bowl on Sunday, Oct 23, 2011. There were twenty bowlers divided into five lanes. There were so much fun that no one wanted to leave after the competition was over.
The champion was Warren Francis, the 1st runner up was Raymond Liu and the 2nd runner up was David Cheng who led only one point among 3 other players.
I heard players already demanded David Cheng to come back next year to take up another challenge.
Following the bowling session, all the players went up to the 2nd floor having their hot pot dinner.
For someone who is not familiar with hot pot dinner, there is a sectioned bowl with different flavoured broths and is put at the centre of the table. While the broths are simmering, eaters put frozen sliced meat or vegetables in the broths and are cooked right in front of them. Of course, beer is usually drunk at the same time of having the communal hot pot. I heard some restaurants in China could offer up to 50 different flavoured broths for you to choose.
Our president, Susan Cheung said ¡¥It is yummy¡¦.
Thanks Jenny Chow for arranging the bowling and the great dinner for us. Jenny had a personal commitment and could not come on that day. We were thinking of her and missed her while we were enjoying the hot pot dinner and hope she could join us next time.
Actually, the Swiss has a similar communal hot pot dinner, Fondue. Instead of putting different flavoured broths, a blend of cheese, wine and seasoning are put inside the simmering bowl.
Our long time member, Queenie Chan said ¡¥It is tasty¡¦.
Does it sound very tempting?
