Safety Protection for Korean BBQ
It is undeniable that Korean BBQ has gotten into the culture of Toronto. It is so nice now that we could enjoy a BBQ without enduring the cruel cold winter and the hot sunny summer. Having a cold beer alongside with a hot tasty BBQ is what we are longing for.
However, Korean BBQ has its own inherent hazards.
Ms. Nicole Leblanc CIP CRM, Loss Prevention Manager, Intact Insurance is going to give us a one-hour presentation on the safety protection for Korean BBQ. She will detail the type of protection insurance company is looking for and how to find out whether the existing establishment is adequate for the purpose. This seminar would entitle you to one RIBO hour of continuing education.

Duct Cleaning
Fire is the most common hazard for a restaurant. Venting pipe or duct exhausts the air and heat to the outside of the restaurant. But over time, the duct will become clogged with grease which will help to ignite a fire and make it even more intensive. In the event of a flare-up, with the grease in the duct, it will bring the fire all the way up to the roof and the exterior of the building. There is a high chance that the building will be engulfed in fire in a short period of time.
Mr. Bill Doherty, President, The International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association, is going to give us a one-hour presentation on duct cleaning. He will describe the importance of duct cleaning, the difference between filter/hood and duct cleaning and, finally, specify what brokers should look for when they go for an inspection. This seminar will entitle you to one RIBO hour of continuing education.
